Kynynmont Farm · Conestoga, Pennsylvania
A boutique warmblood raising and mare management program. Built on decades of experience. Rooted in the land.
Discover Our ProgramSonder Hill was built around the belief that how a young horse is raised — the consistency, the patience, the hands that greet them every morning — leaves a mark that no later training can fully replace. Just as important is the land, with room to develop their athleticism as they navigate gently rolling terrain, interact within a small herd of similarly aged horses, and enjoy the freedom to just 'be a horse.'
These early years set the foundation for the success that follows in their sporthorse careers.
We are a small program. That is by design. Every horse in our care is known individually, managed personally, and treated as if they were our own. We are genuinely invested in each one — and proud to count among our clients people who have trusted us across multiple generations of their mares and foals.
The historic bank barn · Kynynmont Farm
Long before Sonder Hill arrived, this land was shaping exceptional horses. Kynynmont Farm was home to the celebrated Kynynmont Connemaras — a breeding program built by Pam Liddell on 90 acres of rolling Lancaster County farmland in the heart of Amish country. Pam has passed, but her husband Kirk has remained devoted to seeing these grounds flourish, exactly as she would have wanted.
Today, trainer Jessie Paine and JP Dressage call the property's impressive main training barn home. Kirk remains devoted to keeping exceptional horsemanship and training alive at the heart of Kynynmont. And with Sonder Hill now taking residence in the historic bank barn that once housed the breeding stock, both training and breeding fill these grounds once more.
It feels less like coincidence and more like something this farm was always meant to hold.
Extensive pastures, paddocks, and two barn complexes — all in the heart of beautiful Lancaster County farmland
This is not a boarding program. It's a hands-on, personalized approach to sporthorse development, built on decades of combined experience at the highest level. We're relationship-driven and genuinely love working with clients who share that same detail-focused, horse-first philosophy.
The Mare
Success in breeding comes down to coordination, timing, and knowing what each mare needs individually. Our program is built for year-round residents who stay with us from breeding through weaning — a full journey we manage from start to finish.
Warmblood pedigree specialist on staff to assist in stallion selection.
The Foal
Our foaling program provides round-the-clock monitoring, experienced hands at the critical moments, and the calm presence that sets the tone for a foal's first days in the world. That same focus and attention carries through your foal's first months all the way through weaning.
We are here for every step along the way.
The Young Horse
We raise sporthorse prospects from weanlings through three years old in small herds separated by gender. They are handled daily and learn the early skills, confidence, and trust that will serve them well as they leave our program and head off to be started under saddle.

The best programs are built by people who cannot imagine doing anything else.
Founder, Sonder Hill Sporthorse Group
Nearly two decades as General Manager at Hilltop Farm — one of North America's most respected warmblood sporthorse programs — provided Natalie with a platform and an education that couldn't be replicated. From promoting the stallions, to managing staff and finances, through late nights in the foaling barn, those years honed her experience, instincts, and reinforced her love of the sporthorse industry.
While the horses are her first love, it's the relationships with their owners, built slowly over years, that have become one of the most meaningful parts of her work. From those deep roots at Hilltop, Natalie's excited for Sonder Hill as the next chapter in her story — built on everything she has learned, and shaped around everything she loves.

Operations Manager
Christa Baxter spent seven years at Hilltop Farm as Broodmare and Young Horse Manager, overseeing warmblood prospects from their first days through their departure for starting. From foaling to weaning, and through those early lessons that matter most — leading, grooming, standing quietly for the vet and farrier, loading — she is there for all of it.
Her horses consistently gain trust and confidence through her quiet, steady approach, and she finds genuine satisfaction in watching them develop into the sporthorses they're meant to become.
We welcome inquiries from breeders and young horse owners who are looking for a program that specializes in mares, foals, and young horse raising.
